About Geriatrics

Ageing is the third stage of our human life cycle. There’s no need to worry about aging as it is a normal part of life, and every human goes through the same stages of life in the same order. Even though we refer to phases, our bodies change daily and gradually throughout the course of our lives. Health is more than just not having a disease; it is the state of being mentally, socially, and physically well. It is important to pay attention to and receive appropriate medical attention to the physical and functional changes that our bodies undergo as we age. We can celebrate this challenge as a success and achievement of human development.

Why Geriatrics?

As we age, it is important to think about how we can live an active and healthy life, along with who will help us do it. Geriatric syndromes are complex conditions that impact different organs and overall health, and they are associated with a lower quality of life. The challenges faced by our senior citizens include physical and mental health problems, ageism, unstable finances, dependency, and abuse. Ageism can cause feelings of loneliness and isolation that can lead to negative health effects that may go unnoticed. What is the support system for our lifetime health care? Promoting the health and well-being of older adults is critical because it will lead to a happier and healthier rest of our lives, which is why the Geriatric Society is crucial.
