No other agreements between a member and the Society shall apply. In the event of any dispute, these Terms and Conditions shall take precedence over the membership application form.<\/p><ol start=\"2\"><li><strong> Membership Fee<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>The membership year runs from <strong>January 1st to December 31st<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Each member\u2019s annual fee is determined by their membership category and may vary each year. The annual fee includes:<\/p><ul><li>Access to the Society\u2019s website and newsletter<\/li><li>Reduced admission fees for Society functions and meetings<\/li><li>Eligibility to vote in elections for Board, Committees, Special Interest Groups, and regional offices<\/li><\/ul><p>Members will be notified of any changes in membership fees via phone or email.<\/p><ol start=\"3\"><li><strong> Payments<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>Membership benefits become effective only after:<\/p><ul><li>The application or renewal has been approved, and<\/li><li>The required membership fee has been paid in full<\/li><\/ul><p>Accepted payment methods include cheque, bank transfer, and selected credit\/debit cards, as specified in the membership application.<\/p><ol start=\"4\"><li><strong> Cancellations and Refunds<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>The Society reserves the right to cancel membership in the following cases:<\/p><ul><li>Non-payment of membership fees<\/li><li>Submission of false or inaccurate information<\/li><\/ul><p>In cases of false representation, members will be notified and issued a full refund for the current membership year.<\/p><p><strong>Member-Initiated Cancellation<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Cancellations within <strong>10 working days<\/strong> of receiving membership confirmation are eligible for a full refund<\/li><li>Cancellations after <strong>10 business days<\/strong> are not eligible for a refund<\/li><\/ul><p>To change membership category, members must first cancel their existing membership before a refund can be processed.<\/p><p>All refund requests must be submitted in writing (via email or letter). Eligible refunds will be processed within <strong>30 days<\/strong>.<\/p><ol start=\"5\"><li><strong> Copyright<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>All membership materials remain the intellectual property of the Trinidad and Tobago Geriatrics Society.<\/p><p>By submitting an application, members acknowledge that:<\/p><ul><li>The Society retains exclusive rights to all membership content<\/li><li>Members may use materials for reference only<\/li><li>Members may not sell, reproduce, copy, distribute, or republish any materials in whole or in part<\/li><\/ul><ol start=\"6\"><li><strong> Record Keeping and Data Protection<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>Your personal data will be processed for the purposes of:<\/p><ul><li>Membership administration<\/li><li>Customizing your membership experience<\/li><li>Communication about Society services and activities<\/li><\/ul><p>The Society complies with applicable data protection laws, including the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.<\/p><p>Your information may be shared with trusted third-party service providers under strict confidentiality and data processing agreements.<\/p><p>You may request details of these third parties at any time by contacting the Society.<\/p><ol start=\"7\"><li><strong> Communications and Marketing<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>As part of your membership, you may receive communications via:<\/p><ul><li>Email<\/li><li>Telephone<\/li><li>Postal mail<\/li><\/ul><p>You may opt out or update your communication preferences at any time using:<\/p><ul><li>Email or phone request<\/li><li>The unsubscribe link in electronic communications<\/li><li>The membership portal<\/li><li>Written notice to the Society<\/li><\/ul><ol start=\"8\"><li><strong> Images, Video, and Media Use<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you consent to:<\/p><ul><li>Photography and video recording at Society events<\/li><li>Use of event footage for educational and promotional purposes<\/li><li>Use of feedback or comments in marketing materials (which may be anonymized)<\/li><\/ul><ol start=\"9\"><li><strong> Liability Limitation<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for:<\/p><ul><li>Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation<\/li><li>Death or personal injury caused by negligence<\/li><\/ul><p>The Society\u2019s total liability is limited to the amount of membership fees paid in the relevant membership year.<\/p><p>The Society is not liable for:<\/p><ul><li>Loss of profit, revenue, or business<\/li><li>Loss of anticipated savings<\/li><li>Loss of use or value<\/li><li>Any indirect, special, or consequential damages<\/li><\/ul><p>No implied warranties or conditions apply unless expressly stated in these Terms.<\/p><ol start=\"10\"><li><strong> General<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>Failure by the Society to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of such rights.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MEMBERSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS Trinidad and Tobago Geriatrics Society Membership Application By submitting a membership application, it is assumed that the applicant has read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
